Studio One 4 For Beginners
In order to record audio in Studio One 4, this tutorial assumes the user has already configured the audio interface and knows how to create an audio track; both of this operations have been explained on previous tutorials. This tutorial will present a step-by-step guide on how to record audio in Studio One 4. If you plan on using more than one mic at any one time, you will need an interface with an appropriate number of inputs for them. The Presonus Audiobox series offers units with 2, 4, or 8 inputs and connects via USB. To be perfectly honest and it may come as a surprise to some, I wouldn't recommend Studio One to a complete novice and new to making music, if you fall into a category like that, I'd recommend something like Garageband, which while does have an awful name, is actually pretty decent for those new to Daw's, it will lay the foundations and build your confidence in using other Daws's when you come.

When copying Effects in Studio One 4.5, the respective sidechain routing is remembered as well. This enables electronic music producers to sidechain any element of their Song (e.g. The kick drum or bass line) and it only takes seconds. Apply the Rhythm of One Track to Another with Groove Maps.

Joshua guides you through the setup process, demonstrating how the application's preferences are used to choose an audio interface, manage the available audio input and outputs and set a buffer size according to your latency requirements. He goes on to explain sample and bit rates, and the typical settings you will want to use for general recording and mixing purposes. While very high sample rates are available where supported on your interface, they are not always required for everyday work.
